Hydro-meteorological Station A Hydro-meteorological station had launched at UTHM. The system combine with hydrology, drainage, meteorological and air monitoring has succesfully install by LAB-ENVIRON INSTRUMENTS SDN.BHD

 

On May 5, 2009, University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) had launched a Hydro-Meteorological System. The only well setup in Malaysia for educational purpose, this idea was come from Dr. Nor Irwan Mohd. Nor to run the whole system on hydrology, drainage, meteorological and air monitoring into one stop center. The system was installed and commisioned by Lab-Environ Instruments Sdn.Bhd.

Hydro-meteorological Station combines all-in-one system to monitor ground water, level & flow, weather and air monitoring. The sensor had been install was YSI 6920 Multiparameter Water Quality Sonde (ground water monitoring), Sontek Argonaut-SW (level&flow), Vaisala WXT510 Weather transmitter (weather and wind direction), Li-Cor Pyranometer (solar radiation) and MetOne E-sampler (air monitoring).

For infrastructure, this station has setup built with nature pond, v-shape and culvert drainage, water gate, penstock controller, grounwater stilling well, 7-m weather tower, submersible pump and power panel.

The data are running continously using telemetry system (Wi-Fi) from CR-1000 Campbell Datalogger and collected at CECTUS laboratory by displaying using 42-inch Flat Screen TV.
